During this week’s robotics team sessions, the mechanical division concentrated on developing and applying essential safety precautions while cutting and dividing metal rods, which serve as critical components for the robot’s framework. Team members carefully practiced the process of measuring, marking, and segmenting the metal bars into four even sections, emphasizing precision and consistency in every step. Each participant was instructed on the correct use of personal protective equipment—such as safety goggles, gloves, and noise-canceling headphones—to ensure a secure and responsible working environment within the maker-space. Under the supervision of Mr. Jay, the team engaged in hands-on instruction focused on the fundamentals of mechanical engineering, proper tool handling, and workshop safety protocols.
